     Jutlands Cup Rd 4.Update 4.!

74 drivers is ready for this big race. Racing in the Horse hall has become the biggest 1/8 offroad event in denmark if you look at the participants, setup and the joy of racing! Its not a high skill's track but its dilivers some tight and good racing for all levels..Darum Camping is fully booked and will be host for the party friday and saturday night(Hempels Camp:).

1-8 will try to keep you posted on results but you can also follow the race here: Saturday(truggy EP sportman)  sunday(nitro buggy)

   Fischer Joins Horizon Hobby UK!

 

Danish Driver Oliver Fischer has signed with HorizonHobby UK for the season 2012, Oliver is gonna run the TLR 8IGHT Buggy/truggy and TLR 22 1:10th buggy.

  Winter season!!

The outdoor season is over for 2011! last 1/8 nitro race will be the popular indoor JC cup in Bramming the 5-6 november. In the winter there will be alot of oppertunity for racing: SOS will be ready with a brand new 1/10 indoor dirt track..20% bigger than last year.  Claus Nielsen Danish Buggy Champion 2011!

 Martin S Hansen had a huge lead before the last rd..nearly nothing could take the championship away from him..beside electronic problems and Claus Nielsen! and That happent. Martin was out in the semi(due to heavy rain) and the fight for the championship was between Peter Harder(Tq) and Claus Nielsen! We need to say at this point many drivers had chosen to stop driving due to alot of rain! even drivers with a chance for the podium overall.! Claus Nielsen, Peter Harder and Thomas Mortensen was fast from the start..Peter Had the lead(championship) for 30mins but a few mistakes and Claus past him and won with 7 sec. Claus has been very fast all season and we enjoy to see him as a CHAMPION..Gongrats Klaske:)

 Steffen Culmsee wins rd.5/Danish Truggy nats.

Last round was a fight between Silas Høgholt and Steffen Culmsee for the Championship 2011! Silas took TQ with Steffen close behind. The weather changed a bit and now Steffen was 3 laps  faster in the semi..! Steffen had the lead from start to finish and won rd.5 and the championship with 4 laps infront of Henning Warner 2nd.But "Man" of the day was young Pelle Culmsee finished 3rd. close behind Henning warner (2nd) and infront of 09-10 Danish Champion Silas Høgholt (4th). more about that young talent the next many years:)

     DC Rd.5-Astro Hill HRCR!

Lets forget about the latest week's confusion and  focus on the race next week in HRCR:)

Astroturf?? what is that?? Its a plastic carpet and we use it world wide to play tennis on..minigolf..and alot more! but also its getting more and more popular in rc offroad. If you have been in Furulund you will know it from the famous M curve. Astro have about 10mm long hairs and offroad astro track is filled up with sand to give it more strength.

Dry Astro: Alot of grip (when the ideal line is clean) 

Wet Astro: Alot of NO grip..pure drifting (but the choice of tires can help you alot)

The Race!

Well.. we belive that a dry weekend will give the onroad boys as Peter Harder,Claus Nielsen and Rune Gustavsen a good chance to sweep it! But also people with Astro experience like Jonas Kaerup will be set for wictory (dry or wet) 

Finally not to forget the curent championship leader  Martin S who is always fast(est) nomatter the conditions:)

Rumours! We were told that a brand new 1/8 buggy platform might be to find at the astroturf this weekend:)

       DC Rd.5 Update!

A week with intens debate and discussion is over. IMK(Ikast) cancelled Friday morning and the debate about where the race should be was on! The round was allready in the hands of SOS but 3 races of 5 in SOS was not a good solution! Kim P(SOS) HRCR and DASU decited to use the LS offroad track for this last round. The track is a 100% astroturf(carpet) track and it can take alot of rain! there is not many jumps but the layout looks good for 1/8 offroad. overall a good solution for the final rd.

     The Danish euro's team!

 

The Euro's 2011 will take off next week in Sand am main/Germany. Denmark will represent the biggest team ever to a 1/8 buggy Efra event! Due to the location in Germany then Denmark got 8 spot's. The Daddy'sment of Martin S hansen (Sten Hansen) is hired as a coach and team manager..:)

Roumers have it that Silas Høgholt will not attent in the race but that is not confirmt.

Robert Hansen to run Agama! 

 

Robert got destroyed all his racing gear just before the last Danish nats! The TC Hobby sponsered driver utilized the situation and maked a move from the old HN X2 chassis to the new platform of Agama A8 EVO!.

Some positive test in grcc is done just before the Euro's in Sand(germany) which will be the first race for Robert with Agama:)

      New clutch system!

 

Hongnor now have released a new type of aluminum clutch shoes.
We have developed a new Clutch Shoes #407 which is made from a special long wearing alloy formula that can last for a two-day racing event.

  
We have tested these clutch shoes against other shoes on the market and found out that they are more fuel economic, wear out slower and provide less slippage which reduces heat build-up on the bell and bell bearings.
The #407 includes 2 set of springs of different hardness to suit different track conditions.

       DC RD.3 SOS Results!

 

Rd.3 was pretty special round! Alot of rain saturday maked the Truggy race a long hall..The semi finals became the final results of that race(23:30). Sunday's Buggy race was alot better! The qual's was a fight between Silas Høgholt and Steffen Culmsee and only a few 1/1000 of a sec was between them but it was Silas that took the TQ. Martin S Hansen had it all under control in the final and won the race with style!

  

History a this track will tell us that only 2-3 drivers got clean through the final the 5 last races..same was the deal for this race with only top 3 without problems!..The fight for the championship is wide open after this round..we will take a closer look at it when we have the standings (no pictures.. sorry)

 Danish Championship rd.3 SOS!

Rd.3 will once again be held in SOS. Small changes to the track is done since last race 14 days ago... it will be exciting to see how that will effect the race? in the Buggy class Claus Nielsen have a huge gab in the overall standings and a god result this weekend will make him closer to his fist Championship! its also only Claus and Tim Culmsee that can afford to blew up a round as things are rigth now..!

The Truggy class nearly died this round but some EP drivers came to the rescue of the race..Thanks! We hope that this mix will make some good race for both classes in the future:)

Update: only 27 buggy drivers and 10 truggy drivers has signed for this race! We belive that the weatherforecast and distance is the reason for that. Anyway the weather looks better(but not good)  lets hope for the best:). Now lets take look at this round excitement(buggy): Silas Høgholt and Steffen Culmsee need to make a good race and points due to their breakedown at rd.1. A replay of that will lead to a "game over" for this season for them. Martin S Hansen also needs a top result to get back in the game. We dont know who is the favorite for this race and it looks like all top drivers has good speed so it will be excithing so see how the picture looks after this round!

 Danish Championship Rd.1 HRCR results

Two sunny days in Hrcr with even better and tighter racing than expected! The picture Did change a bit this weekend!? Buggy : To be hornest we diddent expect that Claus Nielsen could go all the way..but what a final for him:)  We diddent belive that Jan D would end up in the A-main..But he did and got some good point! Kim Petersen with a strong 4th place wasn't our fist guess either!?

Young star Martin S Hansen diddent find the pace and had a very bad day! Silas Høgholt and Steffen Culmsee  had great speed all day but 10 min into semi B they both retired with broken cars!

Truggy: A Super race for  Rasmus Petersen(2) and Niels Hansen(3)! But it was Silas Høgholt that took the win with 6 laps! Early in the race Silas and Steffen had a fantastic fight for the lead but Steffen went to pit with a broken car.

Some of Jutlands boys had found the way to the island..Lets hope that will continue.

      Mike Gosvig to drive 1/8 buggy?

Roumers told us month ago that the Young tallented EP Touring driver Mike Gosvig would try out some 1/8 Buggy! We spotted his TP. for the time first today on Mylaps in GRCC. Mike Should be equipt with a Horizon sponset Losi and Nvision engines...More to come.

     GRCC offroad track is back in business!!

 

2 weekends of hard work is done! The hole club is new painted, The buggy track is 100% repaired  with a few changes..We had a test at the track yesterday and belive its better than ever:)...Unfortunately it was 2 bussy weekends for CRCC Airport..so no help from there;) but big thanks to Alex & Co.

 M.Sandberg wins world race 2011!

 

Mikael pålsson has won all races at furulund for 7 years until this past weekend! Marcus Sandberg drove a fantastic final and took home the wictory! In the early stage of the final pole man C.Svensson had the lead but he broke his car after 30min...what a final! 

 

Best Danish buggy driver was Kim petersen finish 7th.

Truggy class Henning warner with a strong podium 3th place.

I am sorry to tell you, that HEATIT will not be produced. I simply cannot find a manufacture that can produce it with the right CE approvals.
I am very sorry for this. Maybe in the future a door will open. But for now, I am shooting down the project.

It took 1 hour (20:00-21:05) and the fist 100 drivers was on the list:) Alot of Top drivers : 2x Aigoin's, 2x Bayer, 2x Reckward, Hupo H, C Keller, Tim Bremicker, Phillipp G, And on and on!(Still some missing).We belive the race is fully booked by now and its going to be exciting to see the rest of the participants!

   Pre Run Fuel!

 

 

Following the big demand from all the drivers around the world, we’ve decided to develop a special pre run fuel, especially adapted for the first rounds of your brand new engine.
During the break in period, the internal parts of the engine suffer from important friction due to the very precise adjustment of micro engine parts. Because the engine is brand new, this one have to be adjusted very rich and as a result, is always low in temperature. This new RB break in fuel include special oils and additives making the lubrication of the engine better at lower temperature. After 2 liters of the RB pre run fuel, your engine will be in perfect condition to be used with normal fuel and will last longer, thanks to a very good break in.
Available in 2 liters 16% nitro for .12 engines & in 2 liters 25% nitro for .21 and .28 engines.

   Danish Trophy Hunt 2011..!?

                            Bubblers!

Few days ago 1-8 took a look at 5 driver that WE think have the the best chance for the title 2011.. This time we will take a look at some bubblers that maby will surprice or even take it all in the end of the day.

 

Jonas Kaerup-AE-Northtq-Nova-Proline

Jonas had a fantastic race in Bramming, We saw him as the fastest at the track but that not always enough. It seems that Jonas always put things to the edge..A Very agrassive drive style makes him fast but it also takes alot of fuel and a higher risk to break the car! We think that Jonas will win some races but also fail some! That why we diddent put him in top 5..!

 

Claus "Bad Luck" Nielsen-Xray-Northtq-Nova-Proline /HB/Pro C

Claus is always fast but he always bail out before the race is over? followed by bad luck and we dont know?. We saw His true speed in 2010 HRCR winning the only race he carry through that season! A clean 2011 season for Claus will be dangerous for others:)

 

Jan D Hansen-Durango-Buggynation-Alpha

Danish Champ 2008. Jan Had a very bad start in bramming..The freindship between his new Durango  and Jan is not there jet...But we know that He will Test and test until he got the speed again! The past 2 seasons has not been good for Jan so we are sure that he is hungry to get back in the top..!

 

Robert Hansen-Hong Nor-TC HOBBY-RB-VP PRO

We all know that Robert is fast..Building up a family and house took some speed the past seasons but he still ended up 6th. 2010! In 2011 He will have more time for racing.. Well known for His smoth and stable drive style ,with a combo of more track time.. could be?

 

Rune Gustavsen-Kyosho-Minnibizz-SH/Ninja-Sweep                                                     

Rune maked a clever car chance when Martin s left minnibizz!  not always between the fastest but always stable! We have a feeling that Rune's spirit is high this season and he will make a good result.

 

We will also put Drivers like Oliver fisher, Søren Hempel, Henning W In the bubbler box but we need to stop at some place...Next up: Truggy

  2011 muffler list and new low noise muffler?

Dear Sportfriend,

 

Enclosed the updated muffler/INS list for the 2011 season. On the list is 1 special muffler from Hipex which is

the first low noise muffler. It was just send to us before the deadline and I still need some track time to see how

it performs. Noise level is about -3/-4 dB’s less. I am also busy with testing extra silincing units which can be

mount straight onto the majority of the existing mufflers. This could be very helpful as a solution and also gives

some time to sell out the stock of mufflers that is with the drivers, in the shops and at the manufacturers. The

level for noise reduction with such an extra unit is around -4 dB’s. I hope to give you some more information in

May after some more track testing.

   Danish Trophy Hunt 2011..!?

Fist race of the season in Bramming was a good indicator for 2011! Many driver moves and new equipment, Cars ,Engines,Heaters and alot more...But same faces:)The top of the Elleven game look's to be a Thriller. No one can predict the season but we will take a closer look at some top drivers as we see it.

 

Silas Høgholt-Team Holte-Losi-OS-VP Pro.

Danish Champ 09 and 10. Silas had a great start winning JC1-Buggy in Bramming 2011! Engine change to OS speed will not make things worse! well know for his smooth drive style. We expect to see Silas figthing for a Podium spot 2011 as well.

 

Martin s Hansen-Northtq-JQ-Novarossi-Proline.

2nd Danish Championship 2010..The biggest young talent we have seen in Danish Rc for a long time! With Daddy'o in the workshop and pit it looks to be a dream team! The only thing that can tease is the Start "problems" for The Car but we belive to see Martin between the fastest in THE end of the season.. 

 

Tim Culmsee-HONG NOR-RB-VP PRO-TC HOBBY.

3rd  Danish Championship 2010 and JC Cup winner in both classes.. If Tim can deliver the same speed and smooth driving this season he will get far..But this also require that he will get the new Hong Nor "X3" Buggy in position pretty quick? But we expect to find Tim infight for the title once again this season. 

 

Peter Harder-Northtq-Xray-Novarossi-Proline/HB/Pro C.

4th Danish Championship 2010. In the beginning of last season the pace was set by Peter and Tim..It looks to be a battle between them in the end!  A Muddy race in Skive changed the standings and the Championship was open Again. Peter only needed one more good race to secure the tittle but bad luck and some break downs never gave him the chance...Only minor changes in his equiptment 2011 makes him set from the start.

 

Steffen Culmsee-HONG NOR-RB-VP PRO-RC MODELS-TC HOBBY

5th Danish Championship 2010. Only a few good races in the end of 2010! Steffen had a good start I Bramming winning the Truggy class and had great speed with his Buggy, so we belive 2011 will be better for him;) New better Engine and tires for Steffen this season. As Tim it also require that he will get the new Hong Nor "X3" Buggy in position pretty quick?

Well..Its all new! but notes the very nice anti rollbar quick mount with a hinge, very slim diff's with lightned outdrives and the shock lower mount holes is located so it wont change the drop nomatter if you are using inner or outside holes!..More to come:)

Interview with my brother and Topdriver Tim Culmsee

1-8:Thanks for taking the time to do this interview.

Tim: No problem bro

 

1-8: What was your first car and when did you participate in your first race?
Do you still remeber your result?

Tim:My first real Nitro car was a kyosho  Burns with an OPS engine. I think my first race was in 1989, no i don't remember ;but I finnished last i think ;)

1-8: Later on you got better and better, what do you think were the most important steps in your career?
Tim:The most important step was starting to race all over the world.. You only get better if you race against better drivers..
 
1-8: What are your best results so far?
Tim:Taking the JC cup 2010 in both the Buggy and the Truggy class .
 
1-8:Who was your first sponsor?
Tim:My first real sponsor was a danish company called rc-modelracing.dk
 
1-8: Now looking on to 2011, what will be your racing equipment?
Tim:In 2011 i have signed (again) with Hongnor and I am going to race their brand new car.. 
equipped with RB engines X11 . VP-Pro tires/Servoes RB fuel. JVD clutches . And a brand new line off airfilter oil /tire treatment.. (Can't tell you more about this exiting product)
 
1-8:How often do you practice?
Tim:Well not enough I think.. But at least once a week..
 
1-8: What major events will you take part in this year?
Tim:All the DC and JC Cup races.. A-EC in Germany.. And maybe some races in the new 1/10 series .

 

1-8: You had a very strong top  3 finish in DC 2010 and total domination in The Jutland cup..Can you keep it up or do even better  in 2011?
Tim:Yes I will try to do even better this year.. its no secret that we struggled to keep the pace last year with an "old" X2 car, but this year i am confident about my results with the new HongNor car, and i have the opportunity to practice alot more.

1-8: When will your first race be in 2011?
Tim:It will be the JC cup 5.-6. march in Varde
 
1-8: You  are the founder and owner of the company TC HOBBY in Greve midtby center! So now you are doing rc full time , do you think that will improve your racing?
Tim:Yes i think that i am able to stay even more focused .. because I am in the game 24-7.

1-8: What are you doing if you are not driving with rc cars?
Tim:When I am what.. lol I spend time with my wife and kids..

1-8: Your son Pelle is getting better and better! when will you quit racing and focus 100% on him? or will that never happen?
Tim:When he is in the A final at every race i will quit racing and start focusing on him.. trying to race with him all over the world..

 But lets see, he is still a very young man, and he is very focused on racing now..

Interview with the oldest Topdriver Søren Hempel [Jürgen Stempel]

 

 
Hi Søren
 
Thanks for taking the time to do this interview.

1-8: What was your first car and when did you participate in your first race?
Do you still remeber your result?
Søren: The oldest fart in the  game was running a Ofna Ravanger, with a .28 Hobao engine… awesome.. My first race was at my home club, Søllerød Model Racing Club, (I think it is the oldest Rc club in Denmark), and I don’t think I made any good result. I had huge problems when the car was driving towards me, then left was right, very confusing I remember…
 
1-8: Later on you got better and better, what do you think were the most important steps in your career?
Søren: Joining the Danish Nationals made a huge difference for me. Here I could learn from the best in game. When you are older than the most in the race, it’s all about setup skills I think. Making my setup the best as possible for the track, makes it easier for me to try to keep up with the faster drivers.
 
1-8: What are your best results so far?
Søren: My best result most be 2010 Danish Nationals, or maybe The Hansa Cup. Danish nationals I believe I ended up as nr.8 total and Hansa as nr.7 total. I made my dream of being in the Top 10, that was nice.

1-8:Who was your first sponsor?
Søren: My first Sponsor was a French tire company called 6MIK-RACING.com. And then the rc webshop MINI-BIZZ.dk.
 
1-8: Now looking on to 2011, what will be your racing equipment?
Søren: I am a Mugen Seiki fan, love the way it is put together, engineering and materials of the highest quality. I like that. So it will be Mugen again this year.
 
1-8:How often do you practice?
Søren: Not enough I think, I easily get distracted with beers and good company. But this year I will practice more for sure. (and also practice more with the beer and cigarettes)

 

1-8: What major events will you take part in this year?
Søren: Well, I am going to the A-EM this year for the first time ever, that is something veryspecial, and I am looking very much forward to that. And then there is the Danish Nationals of course. Nordic championship in sweden.

1-8: A very strong top 10 finish in DC 2010 and even a victory in Jutlands Cup rd 2.Can you keep it up or do even better2011?
Søren: Well yes, thank you. It was my best year so far. I will for sure try harder this year togo even higher in the top10. I need to run the car a bit harder I think, and maybe that will give some more speed. We will see.
 
1-8: When will your first race be in 2011?
Søren: I believe we are going to the 1^st round of the Jutland’s Cup in Bramming. It is an indoor race that I have been to 2 times before. Great fun at a very special track.
 
1.8: You are the founder and owner of the company HEATIT..Tell us about it?
Søren: Yes, Heatit is nice little thing, it is made for pre-heating your engine, giving you a very stable and easy engine start. As you know, cold engine start sucks. You can read more on mywebsitewww.heatit.dk

1-8: What are you doing if you are not driving with rc cars?
Søren: I am not quite sure….. I think I am working with design and designing buildings some times. One day I will know the answer to that question.
 
1-8: We were told that due to your age you are considering retiring from racing and focusing 100% on being a Pitman for a much younger topdriver Steffen Culmsee? Can you talk us through that?
Søren: WHEN I stop racing I will for sure be a pitman/mechanic for you Steffen Culmsee, and maybe you will do a lot better then….. J

   Nordic Championship 2011.

We heard that the Nordic Champion the 3-4 septemer 2011,will be held in  Eskilstuna-Sweden!(Not official) Its located around 600 km from Copenhagen:)Anyway we found a nice Videofrom the track.
